What is Olympics?
Olympics are played after every four years. Last Olympics was held in Tokyo, Japan, in 2021. Next Olympics will be held in Paris and Los Angeles in 2024 and 2028 respectively.
Today, the Olympic Games are the largest sporting event in the world. They are held every four years in a different country, with events that include athletics, archery, equestrian, rowing, swimming, weightlifting, wrestling, boxing, cycling, sailing, gymnastics, diving, and many more. ICC ( International Cricket Council ) is trying to introduce cricket in Los Angeles Olympics 2028.
The events that are played on the fields and courts of the Olympic Games are, for the most part, well-known to the general public.
Who are the host countries of Olympics?
The Olympics are held in cities and towns that are the home of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs). The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the governing body for the Olympic Games, and is made up of representatives of each NOC. The IOC decides who will host the Olympics, and sets the rules for the games.
There are currently 193 NOCs. The United States has the most NOCs, with 37. Russia has the second most, with 32. Canada has 30, Great Britain has 29, Germany has 27, and China has 25.
